What did your mother say you never should?

Well they were mostly things about playing on the farm where I grew up. Things like 'never ever play anywhere near the grain bins'. So, of course, we played on top of them. Not good.

My Mother Said I Never Should

My mother said I should never marry a man who:

a) wears white socks
b) works in the armed forces
c) is an only child (although she didn't follow her own advice on this one!)

I got married in 2009 and I managed to follow her advice on all three points. Phew!

My Mother Said

My mother said I never should ... ask how much things cost! She always retorted "Money and fair words" - which drove me mad. Now I drive my children mad saying the same thing! Revenge is sweet.

Thank you for listening.
